LAS VEGAS STRIP HELICOPTER WEDDING
Las Vegas Wedding in the air!
James and Stephanie tied the knot in a Helicopter over the fabulous Las Vegas Strip!
This is how it all came together. James called Paradise Wedding Chapel and said that he wanted to surprise Stephanie and propose to her in a helicopter above the Strip.
In a matter of a couple hours, James had planned the whole trip and the wedding! First, he had to get Stephanie in the car to “go for a drive”. The cover story is that they were celebrating her work achievements. Then, he had to make sure that Stephanie’s sister was also in the car. The Helicopter was set up for 7:00pm. All parties had to be there by 6:15. I arrived around 6:00, to be sure to get there before they arrived. James said he was driving 100 mph to be sure to get there in time! While you’re waiting, they offer complimentary champagne, which is a really nice touch! So, I’m there sipping champagne, and James comes in, by himself. Stephanie still has no idea what is happening! James said he pulled in there to use the restroom! I have a quick meet with James, we discuss how it’s all going to go down, he gives me rings to hold.
Moments before the flight, James gets Stephanie in the building, along with her sister. He tells Stephanie that there were 3 seats available on the flight and that he just bought the tickets. Stephanie is very easy-going and just says, ok. I’m pretending to not know anyone or anything that’s happening. 2 other guys in the helicopter actually do not know anything! Her sister does not even know!
We load into the helicopter. We are all wearing headphones and microphones so that we can talk to each other. James is making small talk so that we can test the audio. After a few minutes of chatting, James asks Stephanie “will you marry me?” I’m sure there were more words and It was much more eloquent than that though! I was waiting for my cue and trying not to drop the rings! The rest of us are kind of chanting “say yes, say yes”, maybe we were a little bit obnoxious about it, just maybe. It took no time at all for Stephanie to exclaim “Yes!” We all cheered! Then James said “Too bad there isn’t someone here right now that can marry us”. That was my cue! I introduced myself and said that I would be thrilled to marry them right then. Stephanie was crying, her sister was crying, I think maybe the 2 other guys on board were also crying.
We had a wedding. Right there. A Las Vegas Wedding in the sky, above the strip. It was pretty spectacular. James and Stephanie exchanged vows. I magically had wedding rings for them to exchange. They managed a kiss with the headphones and mic on, that was a bit challenging! Next thing you know, we’re on the ground. We disembark, take a couple of photos, head back inside and have another champagne toast!
Congratulations to James and Stephanie!
